قوانین مربوط به جمع بستن اسم ها در انگليسي

1- بيشتر اسمهاي انگليسي را مي توان با اضافه كردن s  با آخر آنها به جمع تبديل كرد.

اسمهاي مختوم به s – sh – ch –x – z – ss را بوسيله es به جمع تبديل مي كنيم

3-  اسمهاي مختوم بهy در صورتيكه حرف مافبل y يك حرف بي صدا باشد هنگام جمع بستن y  حذف و مابقي كلمهies مي گيرد.

ولي چنانچه حرف ماقبل y يكي از حروف صدادار باشد، كلمه هنگام جمع بستن فقط s مي گيرد.

4- كلماتي كه به حرف یا f-feختم مي شوند در هنگام جمع بستن f /fe به ves تبديل مي شوند.

يادآوري: roof و proof  و برخي از كلمات ديگر از اين قاعده مستثنا هستند و فقط s مي گيرند.
 
5- برخي از كلمات مفرد را بوسيله تغيير حروف صدادار آنها به جمع تبديل مي كنيم.

پیاده شدن :   To get out of / To get off

To get out of is used for caers; To get off is used for all other forms of transportation.  m

                                                        اصطلاح عامیانه fishy یعنی داری مشکوک میزنی

    aA:  about + infinitive means  " going to very soon" ; "just going to"    m

Don't go out now- we're about to have lunch.    h

I was about to go to bed when the telephone rang.    k

B:    Not about to can mean "unwilling to"    k

I'm not about to pay 100 dollars for that dress.    k
